Getting Fit

I read somewhere that publicly committing to new lifestyle of healthy eating and exercise increases your chance of success. So that's exactly what I'm going to do here!

I've always struggled with my weight. Even when I reached my goals I would then set another goal to reach because I could never be thin enough. I can't remember a time that I have been happy with my body. So my first goal is accept and appreciate my body. I will not let my weight determine my self worth. I know I won't feel that way everyday but the point is to do my best to feel okay and comfortable with the way I look in the PRESENT! I want to lose weight to be healthier and set a good example for my girls. I'm not "dieting" I'm changing my lifestyle and my relationship with food. I want to be more active and stop relying on food for a pick me up or an escape. I think these changes are going to have a positive influence on our entire family.

My second goal is to lose 10 pounds to get down to the weight I was when I got pregnant with Hadley. I am giving myself 8 weeks to accomplish this goal.

My third goal is to lose an additional 10 pounds but I'm not setting a timeline until I meet Goal #2.

My final goal is to maintain my weight. Losing the first 10 pounds has always been fairly easy. I've struggled to lose much after that and then eventually I would gain the 10 pounds back and have to start all over again. I want to stop that cycle.

So there you have it! I'll give updates periodically. I'd like to come up with some rewards to motivate my weight loss. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Here's my current plan:

•Track all food/calories using the LoseIt app. (I'm taking into consideration that I need extra calories for breastfeeding)
•Work out 3 times p/week for 30 minutes on WiiFit.
(I plan on joining the gym once T is 12 weeks old. I also know I'll need to increase this time but I want to be realistic as well)
•Use Emealz WeightWatchers recipe plan to cook healthy dinners.

Wish me luck!

Pam, I too understand you struggle. Check out Livestrong.com. They have good articles. I have been attending a nutrition class at work and it has helped tremendously! Good Luck!
