This is what we have been waking up to almost every morning for the last month or two. Hadley has had her ups and downs with sleeping in her own bed. We only co-slept for a few months at the beginning of her life, but apparently she would like the trend to continue for 4 YEARS! I don't think there's anything wrong with co-sleeping; if that's what works for your family, good for you. Personally, we feel that our bed is the one space in the house that we don't have to share with kids. They get the whole house, we just want our bed! I'm not opposed to everyone climbing in the bed in the mornings, but let's give mommy and daddy 8 hours to themselves.
We have tried different tactics over the years, and they worked for awhile, but never permanently. Recently, she's taken a new approach. Instead of waking us up crying and screaming, she quietly sneaks in to the bottom of our bed and sleeps in between us. She's gotten so good with her cat like reflexes that we sometimes have no idea she is there until we wake up...or we accidentally kick her. Other nights, she's sleeps right under our feet and spreads out so wide we end up with half the bed.
We've just ordered her a "big girl bed" with the hopes she will actually use it. She really is too small for the toddler bed which isn't very comfortable. She usually ends up sleeping on a fold out Dora couch instead. Fingers crosses this very expensive tactic will work...permanently!
