Food Food Food

After writing a 20 page paper on food in fiction, these pictures just seem appropriate. The first is just a picture of Hadley eating breakfast. She was especially smiley and talky that morning and the camera was close by. I have a really cute video but our Internet is super slow today, so I'll have to share it another time.

Notice the little bear head peeking up beside her. That is HER bear, we call him OGB (Original Gangsta Bear). Hadley's Nana brought that her from the UK and she has slept with OGB since she was a little baby. She absolutely looooovvveess bear, he gets all the kisses, hugs, and love (and snot, food, and dirt). She is always willing to kiss bear, but when mommy asks for kisses all I get is a head shaking 'No'. OGB goes with us everywhere, and she gets really mad if you take him away while she's eating breakfast. When we go to get her out of her crib in the morning, she sees us walk in, gets all excited, but starts grabbing for bear because there is no way she's leaving him in the crib. For fear of losing bear (we've come close a couple of times), we asked for an identical one to be sent over from the UK, hence the new nick name OGB. We're trying to get her to use the new bear, and when OGB is not in the room, she does. However, she knows exactly which one OGB is.

And here is one from today. I was trying to make the edible centerpieces for my sisters baby shower on Sunday and she was trying to climb up my leg to see what I was doing. Solution for 5 minutes of quiet: giving her some of the chocolate.

A few minutes later, I look down and see her face. She sees my expression, laughs, and runs into our bedroom. She was quite amused with herself.

I really should have known better!

Anyway, we have had a busy week and it's not over yet. Tonight she is headed to play with her friend Sophie while Neil and I take a sushi making class at Central Market. We have to miss swim school on Saturday because my sister's graduation is at 9.a.m. (seriously, 9 a.m.). We went on Tuesday instead and she did so great! Neil has taken her the last few times because I've been so busy with school, so I really enjoyed seeing how much she has learned. She can go under water for 8-9 seconds and jumps into the water to me after I count to 3 (these sound like little things, but it is actually quite difficult to convince a 1 year old to jump into the water without any help, and then also make them wait for a specific cue!)

That's all for now, I'll try to update in a few days with pictures from Jessie's graduation and baby shower.
