Puerto Rico

We decided to plan a trip to Puerto Rico for the week after I finished my thesis. This trip would either be a celebration or a commiseration, either way I would need to get away. Thankfully, it was a celebratory trip as I successfully defended my masters thesis! We are all absolutely thrilled to finally have accomplished this goal. I say "we" because it truly was a family effort. I would not have been able to finish my degree without all the help and support of Neil and all of our friends and family who often stepped in to watch Hadley so I could study, or research, or write, or to just take a break from all the pressure. Since then we have really been enjoying all the time we have been spending together as a family. As Neil says, "I have my wife back!" It really feels that way too.

Anyhow, off we went to Puerto Rico for 5 days with my sister and her family. Hadley has an absolutely blast spending everyday with her cousins, or as she called them, "my girls." We rented a house off the coast of Humacao, about 45 minutes from San Juan. Most days we spent the morning at the beach and the afternoon at the pool. We did visit the El Yunque National Rainforest, which was absolutely beautiful. We only saw just a small portion of the area, but it was the best we could do with 4 kids!

Here are a few pictures from our family vacation:
